Portuguese drivers discreet in the European Le Mans Series
The drivers Manuel Espírito Santo and Miguel Cristóvão (Ligier) were the best Portuguese representatives in the 04 Hours of Le Castellet, the second round of the European Le Mans Series, held in France, finishing in fifth place in the LMP3 class.

The two drivers, who are still part of a team with Cédric Oltramare, finished in 25th place overall, eight laps behind the winners, Oliver Gray, Clément Novalak and Luca Ghiotto (Oreca).
"It was a particularly difficult race. In my driving shift, I tried to make up for the time lost in the first few hours. The car was quite good and it was possible to recover, but then the Ligier started to have problems with the rear suspension and it became difficult to drive and to extract its full potential. Fifth place ended up being the possible result", explained Manuel Espírito Santo, who started from second position.
Miguel Cristóvão also regretted the final result.
"It was a difficult race. We had little top speed, which harmed us on the long Mistral straight. We were in first place at one point, but we had to make an extra stop to ensure that Cédric scored points and that threw us back to fifth", said Miguel Cristóvão.
Bernardo Pinheiro (Ligier) finished in seventh position, nine laps behind the winners.
Miguel Cristóvão and Manuel Espírito Santo are in third position in the championship, with 29 points, while Bernardo Pinheiro is sixth, with 25.
The next round of the European Le Mans Series takes place on 7 July, in Imola.
