The 'preferred' fine. How many Portuguese were caught speeding?
The Annual Report on Claims for 2023 has been released.

The National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) released the Annual Road Accident Report for 2023, which revealed that the most common traffic violation committed by Portuguese drivers is speeding.
This violation accounts for 58.1% of all traffic violations, which leads us to ask: How many drivers were caught speeding in Portugal during 2023?
The answer is almost one million people. According to the Annual Road Accident Report, 946,956 drivers were caught speeding.
This number represents an 8.2% increase compared to 2022, when 874,934 drivers were fined for speeding.
