Opel Frontera presented live. Available in hybrid and electric

The Opel Frontera was formally presented to the public, after the world premiere. The CEO of the German brand was present at the unveiling of the new SUV, in Istanbul, and left a few words to Opel fans.
"This year we are celebrating 125 years of automobile production at Opel. 125 years in which we have always moved forward, offering customers innovative and practical mobility. The new Opel Frontera makes a particularly strong statement in this respect: highly flexible, spacious and electrified, our new SUV will conquer new customer groups", he said.
It was revealed that the Frontera will have space for not only five, but seven occupants and will be available in a 100% electric and hybrid version.
The electric Frontera will have a variant with a range of over 300 kilometers and also a "long range" version, capable of traveling up to about 400 kilometers.
The hybrid Frontera has a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 100 or 136 hp developed specifically for hybrid use. Either of these works in combination with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Prices for Portugal have not yet been revealed, but in Germany the hybrid version starts at 24,000 euros and the electric one at 29,000.
