The Adamastor Furia is the first Portuguese supercar. With more than 650 hp, thanks to the V6 engine from Ford Performance, this sports car that will have a road and competition version will be limited to 60 units.
Why did the Portuguese manufacturer choose a Ford engine? The explanation was simple and was given by Ricardo Quintas, CEO of Adamastor, in an interview with Razão Automóvel.
"When we said that we wanted to build a competition car and another for the road, the door of the engine manufacturers closed immediately. The only one that opened the door for us was Ford Performance", he began by revealing.
"We said that we wanted the engine that equips the Le Mans model. And they stared at us (laughs). We reached an agreement and they told us that we would have the previous generation of the one they would use in Le Mans, for obvious reasons. The engine was duly prepared, without going into exaggeration, because what we want is reliability. We want a high-performance, resilient and resistant engine. The goal is to also enter the World Endurance Championship. We have to be among the sharks to call ourselves sharks. Only then can we succeed in the market", stressed the CEO of Adamastor.
