Curated by Catarina Laranjeiro and Daniel Barroca, the exhibition, which addresses colonization and Afro-descendant communities in Portugal, will be open until August 30, constituting the sixth moment of the cycle "Territory", a partnership between Fidelidade Arte and Culturgest, the organization announced today.

The exhibition - "full of traps and contradictions" - extends from Guinea-Bissau to the Sintra line, in Greater Lisbon, which will be in focus especially in the film "Fogo no Lodo", directed by Catarina Laranjeiro and Daniel Barroca.
The exhibition brings together objects, installations, videos, in addition to film and conversation cycles, with the participation of artists Ana Temudo, Sara Santos, Axy Demba, Carlos Andrade, CV-TEP, Inês Sapeta Dias, João Pereira aka Tikai, José Estima, Maria do Carmo Piçarra, Marina Temudo and Mário Oliveira aka Barudju.
The title of the exhibition was suggested by the artist Sara Santos, who presents a work "with iconic buildings of Cacém on the corner of a map-blanket, where she has been inscribing a subjective geopolitics of Europe", according to a presentation text of "O Chão é Lava!".
The exhibition also includes works by the artists Mbana Cabra & Samba Tenem, Nelca Lopez, Nos Manera, Ramón Sarró, Rui Lopes, Rui Silva, Uma Certa Falta de Coerência, Umaro Sabali aka Maquina Motor and Victor Bor.
The film cycle that accompanies the exhibition, programmed by Inês Sapeta Dias, also starts today, with her film "Retrato de Inverno numa Paisagem Ardida". This cycle runs until June 26. Others will follow, curated by Maria do Carmo Piçarra, from June 27 to July 24, and by Rui Lopes, from July 25 to August 30.
"Retrato de Inverno numa Paisagem Ardida" works "the interrelation between issues of landscape, territory and materiality of the image", according to a synopsis of the work by Inês Sapeta Dias, which will be exhibited today, during the opening of the exhibition, from 22:00.
After it ends, the exhibition will go to Culturgest Porto, where the film program will be in charge of Sílvia das Fadas (Cinema Fulgor), Lucas Camargo and Nuno Lisboa.
At Fidelidade Arte, in Lisbon, the exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, with free admission.
