Promoted by the aforementioned local authority of the Aveiro district on July 12th and 13th, the event is dedicated to freedom in 2024 and summons musicians from six countries for this purpose, gathered by the Cáster River for concerts that invite people to enjoy this green space, "to lay out a towel and have a picnic". The suggestion comes from the Culture Councillor, Alexandre Rosas, who relates the scenario of the initiative with its new duration: "We extended the Festa by one more day so that the people of the municipality and also visitors can better enjoy this concept, which is very much about the invitation to enjoy the space and all its surroundings, with time". On July 12th, the programme starts at 5:30 pm with the Portuguese DJ Von X, to whom the organisation of the Festa attributes "jazz influences that do not overlook 'world music' in its folk and foltronica variants", and continues with the traditional-based project Sopa de Pedra, with the choral group Canto Décimo. This show involves 10 women who will perform a cappella, with polyphonic arrangements, from Mirandese canticles to Azorean ballads, passing through songs from the adufeiras of Beira Baixa, Alentejo cante and also songs by José Afonso and Amélia Muge. On this first day, there are two more concerts, the first of which is by the collective Lá no Xepangara, which uses musicians from Mozambique, Brazil, Guinea-Bissau and Portugal to reflect on the strong presence of African culture in the life and work of José Afonso, and "the role that this artist played in the fight for decolonisation, democratisation and development of Lusophone society and culture". Selma Uamusse, Karyna Gomes, Edu Mundo and Fred Martins will be the voices on stage. The last performance of the day is by the Portuguese percussion band Bateu Matou, by Ivo Costa, Quim Albergaria and Riot. On July 13th, the Festa begins by presenting at 4:00 pm "ais alto", a project in which Afonso Cabral, Francisca Cortesão, Inês Sousa and Sérgio Nascimento explore a repertoire that includes Portuguese, Brazilian and other music. An hour later, Nancy Vieira will take to the stage with her new album, "Gente", in which "there are the stories, dreams and yearnings, the pains and joys of the people of Cape Verde". Then, the collective Acácia Maior will be present, to whom the organisation of the Festa recognises "creation, fusion and tradition" in the way that the respective musicians apply various rhythms and expressions of Cape Verdean folklore to "different international musical aesthetics, in a proposal to celebrate origins". The stage then moves on to África Negra, who are considered a "cult band with over 40 years of history, ambassadors of the sound of São Tomé and Príncipe and of 'Mama Djumba'". At night, the Festa will take place with three concerts: first, Jorge Palma, who will have Sérgio Godinho as a special guest; then, the Brazilian band Bixiga; and, to finish, the Portuguese Branko.
