Reduced penalty for lack of vigilance and supervision of FC Porto
The punishment applied to FC Porto for lack of vigilance and supervision in the game against Arouca, for the Portuguese I League of football, on December 28, 2022, was reduced by half, after an appeal by the 'dragons'.

According to the decision of March 14, which became final on April 2 and which Lusa had access to today, FC Porto had been sentenced to a fine of 110 thousand euros by the Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sport (APCVD), for breach of the legal regime for security and combating racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sports events.
At the time, the Public Security Police (PSP) carried out an inspection of the south stand of the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, usually occupied by the Organized Group of Supporters (GOA) SuperDragões, having found, in the bathrooms, pyrotechnic material, in the case 45 torches, also registering, during the match, the obstruction of the access and evacuation stairs, without the intervention of the sports venue assistants.
In the assessment of the appeal, the Judicial Court of the District of Porto considered it not proven that FC Porto had acted "in a free, conscious and voluntary manner, with the purpose of allowing the introduction of that prohibited material inside the stadium, as well as allowing the obstruction of the access and evacuation routes, knowing full well that by acting in this way it was committing misdemeanors".
It was also not proven that the 'blue and white' club had taken "all due care and adopted the necessary and appropriate conduct to prevent the introduction of pyrotechnic devices inside the sports venue and to clear the access to the stands during the sports event".
All the other facts imputed were considered proven, and this court decided to punish FC Porto for negligence, with a single penalty of 55 thousand euros, without the club having contested this penalty again.
FC Porto beat Arouca, in this match of the 14th round of the 2022/23 edition of the I League, played on December 28, 2022, by 5-1.
