Official: Sporting secures youth player who is inspired by Geny Catamo and Esgaio

Sporting announced, this Wednesday, that they have reached an agreement with José Silva to renew the contractual bond between both parties, thus securing a young man who has been with the Lions since 2019.
“I am very happy to renew my contract with Sporting, a very important institution in my life. I have many good memories since I came here, I hope to continue here for many more years”, he said in statements to the official channels of the Alvalade emblem.
“Debut for the main team? It is a dream that I want to achieve and I hope to achieve it soon. It is motivating to see my colleagues reach that level where we all want to be. We have to look at them as examples and follow them”, he added, before giving an account of the players he is inspired by.
"I really like Geny Catamo. He was a player who left, managed to return and is having a very good performance. I also look at Ricardo Esgaio for the position, for having already gone through a lot and for having also been in the Academy”, he completed.
It is recalled that José Silva, a young 18-year-old defender, has been with Sporting since 2019, and this season has already played six games for team B, in addition to the 23 duels in the service of the under-23s.
