After leading alone at the end of the first two rounds, Schauffele repeated Friday's performance, with 68 strokes, three under par, to finish on Saturday with a total of 198.

However, he saw Morikawa do better in this last round, with 67 'shots', and match the aggregate of 198.

The pair will enter the final round, scheduled for today, at the top of the standings, with one less stroke than compatriot Sahith Theegala, in third place, with 199 'shots', 14 under par.

The PGA Championship, the first 'major' of the season, takes place at the Valhalla Golf Club, in Louisville, in the state of Kentucky, in the United States, and offers a total of 17.5 million dollars in prizes (about 16 million euros).
