Montenegro Government meets for the first time at the Social Concertation
The Government and the social partners are meeting today at the Social Concertation, formalizing the first of these meetings with the new executive, which will be attended by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro.

The official agenda of the meeting indicates that "other matters" will be addressed, in addition to the presentation of institutional greetings, without detailing a specific topic.
This will be the first time that the employers' confederations and the trade union centrals will be sitting at the Social Concertation table with the new Government, in a meeting in which, in addition to Luís Montenegro, the Minister of Solidarity, Labor and Social Security, Maria do Rosário Ramalho, will also be present.
Speaking in parliament during a debate on the employment situation of couriers and drivers of digital platforms, held at the request of the Left Bloc, on April 18, Maria do Rosário Ramalho stated that the Government does not have a "persecutory philosophy" in relation to the business model of digital platforms, adding that it intends to review the presumption of employment of couriers in the Social Concertation.
In that debate, the minister also said that "the Government will resume the dialogue with the Social Concertation that was neglected in the past". "It is imperative that this is no longer the case", she said.
The presumption of employment of couriers is included in the amendment to the Labor Code conducted by the previous government and produced through the Decent Work Agenda, and in its program, the executive led by Luís Montenegro indicates that it intends to "revisit" the labor changes approved within the scope of that agenda.
This meeting of the Social Concertation is also the first since Tiago Oliveira succeeded Isabel Camarinha as general secretary of the CGTP at the end of February.
