The unemployment rate in the countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has been at 5% or less on average for the last two years.
Fifteen of the 38 OECD member countries registered unemployment rates equal to or below 5%.
In March, the unemployment rate increased in eight countries, decreased in two and remained stable in 22 of the countries for which data was available.
However, the number of unemployed people increased slightly to 34.2 million, compared to 33.9 million in February, due to an increase among women.
Female unemployment stood at 5.3%, seven tenths of a percentage point higher than for men, which remained stable.
In the European Union and the eurozone, unemployment remains at historically low levels (6% and 6.5%, respectively).
