Nvidia Reports Record Revenue and Earnings With Massive Year-Over-Year Growth
Nvidia's results, presented today after the close of the stock market session, far exceeded analysts' expectations, based on its dominance in semiconductor production, which has made it a symbol of the sudden growth of artificial intelligence (AI).

Its quarterly profit more than seventupled from $2.04 billion a year ago to $14.88 billion, while revenue more than tripled to $26.04 billion from $7.19 billion.
The company also announced a 10-for-1 stock split that will make its shares more affordable for employees and investors.
The Santa Clara, Calif. -based company built an early lead in the specialized computers and software needed to run AI applications, in part because its founder and chief executive, Jensen Huang, began shifting the company toward what then seemed like a futuristic technology more than a decade ago.
Today, Nvidia is the third-largest company by market capitalization on Wall Street.
