Princess Ingrid of Norway swaps gown for military uniform on holiday

Today, May 17, is Norway's National Day, an occasion celebrated by the royal family.

This Friday, May 17, was the Norwegian National Day, an occasion that brought the royal family together.

As usual, the members of the royal family went up to the balcony of the Royal Palace in Oslo to greet the citizens. The great protagonist of the moment was Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who appeared in military uniform.

During the ascent to the palace balcony, the heirs were joined by King Harald and Queen Sonia of Norway.

It is worth noting that earlier this year Princess Ingrid began her military training by joining the Engineer Battalion of the Northern Brigade. The recruitment will last 12 months.

As highlighted by the magazine Vanitatis, the activities began early in the morning in Skaugum, the official residence of Haakon and Mette-Marit, with the couple receiving several people in their garden as part of a parade to commemorate the holiday.

Sverre Magnus, the youngest son of Haakon and Mette-Marit, was the most missed absence, as he was celebrating the end of secondary school in Elvebakken, Oslo.

Marius Borg, the eldest son of Princess Mette-Marit - the result of a previous relationship - also missed the celebrations.
