Alabastro wines have just achieved Sustainable Production Certification. To mark the recognition, the brand has renewed the image of its labels and relaunched the entire range.
The certification of Alabastro wines is the result of the Sustainability Program of Alentejo Wines, which recognized the sustainable practices in various aspects - social, environmental and economic - carried out by the producer Aliança - Vinhos de Portugal, SA. Taking advantage of this certification, Alabastro wines now appear with new labels, alluding to nature and the protagonists that inhabit it, namely the bee, featured on the label of the Albastro Tinto Reserva wine, which is an ally in the pollination of sustainable vineyards. On the label of the Branco wine, the dragonfly appears, which signifies the quality and respect for water bodies and natural ecosystems, and on the label of the Tinto wine, the protagonist is the ladybug, which signifies the effectiveness in combating insects harmful to the vineyard.
"This certification makes even more sense when it comes to a wine whose name is inspired by the semi-precious marble found in the Alentejo, also paying homage to this rock and its connection to the soils of many of the region's vineyards", can be read in a statement. Along with these elements of nature, the bottles contain a sustainable production seal, which proves good practices, namely in saving resources, promoting biodiversity and using renewable energy, or initiatives that involve the entire community in adopting sustainable behaviors.
In the same press release, the brand highlights that the Alabastro Reserva Tinto 2019 wine has just been awarded a gold medal in the spring 2024 edition of Mundus Vini - The Grand International Wine Award. The Alabastro Branco 2022 wine has already achieved a silver medal in this important competition.
The Mundus Vini competition, recognized as one of the most prestigious worldwide, evaluated 7,430 wines from 45 countries over six days, which were submitted to the appreciation of 250 experts.
This is the 34th edition of this international competition, which takes place in Germany, with spring editions in February and summer editions in August, standing out for promoting the quality and commercialization of participating wines worldwide.
