The President of Senegal will be received by his counterpart Umaro Sissico Embaló at Bissau airport, with military honors and an hour later he will go to the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. At the headquarters of the Guinean presidency, a restricted meeting will take place between the two heads of state, followed by a bilateral meeting extended to the delegations of the two countries. At the end of the meetings, a joint statement to the press is scheduled. The visit ends with an official lunch offered by the President of Guinea-Bissau and Bassirou Diomaye Faye's return to Senegal is scheduled for shortly after 15:00 (16:00 in Lisbon). The new president of Senegal, aged 44, took office on April 2, having been chosen as a presidential candidate by opposition leader Ousmane Sonko, who was prevented from running and saw his party outlawed by the regime of then President Macky Sall.
