José Luis Domingos spoke in Luanda at the opening of a social consultation meeting on human rights in Angola promoted by the OAA, where he praised the role of activists who, he considered, are "the shield and voice of the most unprotected in this country".

He regretted, on the other hand, that many of these rights, despite being formally accepted and enshrined in the Constitution, continue to be denied to the majority of Angolans.

"It is a notorious fact that should shame us as a country and motivate us to join efforts and work in search of solutions that reduce the disparities in the levels of dignity that are offered in the lives of millions of Angolans", highlighted the head of the OAA.

José Luis Domingos stressed that only with independent and efficient courts will it be possible to have a true State of law that allows "real protection of human rights", regretting the "dehumanization of the most vulnerable sectors of Angolan society" who are denied "the right to have rights".

The president stressed that the OAA wants to contribute and motivate the dignity of Angolans and considered that the promotion and defense of human rights is "one of the most important tasks that should unite all Angolan society".
