A young woman who is believed to have been raised in a forest with no contact with society has been found in Coín, a town in Malaga, Spain.

According to 20 minutos, the authorities had an international search warrant to find the young woman, who is believed to have been kidnapped by her father and had since been raised with her sisters in a forest.

The victim turns 18 in May and has been described as a 'wolf girl' by the Spanish authorities.

The authorities discovered her in March when they noticed a vehicle with a flat tire. As they approached, they detected a man and in his company a young woman "downcast and dirty". After identification, they realized that the girl was reported missing and could be in danger.

The teenager was admitted to a child protection center in the province of Malaga while the procedures for her repatriation were initiated, which were successfully completed on Friday, May 3. She is now under the guardianship of the Swiss government.

20 minutos explains that the term 'wolf girl' is used to describe children who, for various reasons, have grown up on the fringes of society for a long period of time.
