At least 11 dead in Indonesia school van accident
At least 11 people, including nine high school students, were killed and dozens injured when a school van carrying high school students crashed on Java island, Indonesian police said on Tuesday.

The accident, which occurred at 6:48 p.m. Saturday (12:48 p.m. Saturday in Lisbon), in the west of the island, caused 13 serious injuries and 40 minor injuries, said West Java police spokesman Jules Abraham Abast.
The vehicle, with more than 60 students and teachers on board, suddenly turned left and collided with a car and three motorcycles.
Abast said police were investigating the causes of the traffic accident, which are frequent in Indonesia, with a high number of old vehicles and also often in poor condition.
Earlier last month, at least 12 people died in a collision between a bus and two light vehicles also on the island of Java.
