At least 12 dead in Indonesia floods, cold lava flows
At least 12 people have died and four are missing after flash floods and cold lava flows hit western Indonesia, local disaster officials said on Tuesday.

The tragedy occurred in the districts of Agam and Tanah Datar in the west of the western island of Sumatra, around 10:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. Saturday in Lisbon) on Saturday, the search and rescue agency Basarnas indicated.
"Twelve people died (...) and four are still being searched for in the Agam district", explained the head of the agency Abdul Malik, in a statement.
Nine bodies, including those of children aged 03 and 08, have already been identified, he added.
"Today, we will continue the search in the two districts", added Abdul Malik.
For hours, on Saturday, torrential rains fell in the region, causing flash floods and cold lava flows from Mount Marapi, a volcano in the province of West Sumatra, according to Basarnas.
Cold lava is the magma formed from the various materials that make up the walls of a volcano: ash, sand and rocks. Under the effect of rain, these materials can mix and run down the crater.
Landslides and floods are frequent in Indonesia during the rainy season.
In March, at least 26 people were found dead following landslides and floods in western Sumatra.
