A man aged about 50 was rescued on April 17 by the Penela Firefighters after suffering a sudden illness about 20 meters high, in the town of Venda das Figueiras, in Penela.

In a note published this Monday on the Facebook social network, the Penela Firefighters report that the victim was carrying out maintenance work on a crane on a construction site when he felt unwell.

Despite being "a rescue situation in a location with difficult access", the man was "promptly assisted" on site and then rescued. He was later assessed by the pre-hospital crew and by the team of the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) of the Coimbra Hospital Center (CHC).
