Man arrested after trying to poison parents. He was reported by relatives

A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Judiciary Police (PJ) on Tuesday, on suspicion of having tried to poison his parents, in the municipality of Guarda.
The arrest occurred after "carrying out a house search and another non-house search, both in the aforementioned municipality, as part of an investigation that originated from a complaint filed by other family members of the victims", the PJ said in a statement sent to newsrooms.
The man's parents, with whom he lived, had to receive "immediate hospital treatment, with the need for subsequent continuous hospitalisation", according to the same note.
The man, who has already been present at the first judicial interrogation, was placed in preventive detention.
At issue are two crimes of attempted murder, by means of poisoning, as well as two crimes of aggravated domestic violence and one crime of aggravated threat.
