The five grand gold medals were awarded to the wines Adega 23, Aromas do Mondego, Casa Agrícola Metello de Nápoles, Beira Serra Vinhos and Quinta dos Currais.
The 2024 edition of the Portugal Wine Trophy was organized by DWM Deutsche Wein Marketing, with the support of the Guarda Municipal Council and the CVRBI.
According to the CVRBI, the competition was attended by more than 1,300 wines from 40 different countries, which were evaluated by a panel with more than 50 judges made up of professionals from the sector of 15 nationalities.
For the president of the CVRBI, Rodolfo Queirós, it is "a great pride" to see the work of a region recognized and translated into 95 medals.
"It is with great satisfaction that we see five Beira Interior wines achieve the maximum distinction of Grand Gold, 77 awarded with Gold and 13 Silvers", emphasized the leader.
Rodolfo Queirós considered that it is "a great result and unequivocal proof of the quality of the wines produced here, but also of the effort that all producers have made to promote quality in the region".
In his opinion, "this is another excellent opportunity to increase the notoriety and promote the quality of the region's wines inside and outside the country".
The Portugal Wine Trophy had the high patronage of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).
