The Platform of Unions and Associations of the PSP and GNR regrets the first proposal of the MAI, which it says reveals a "huge lack of respect for the dignity of the professionals of the GNR and PSP, a gesture that has already been committed", it says in a statement.

Expressing "surprise, astonishment and indignation at the proposal" presented by the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) at the meeting on May 2, in which the minister in charge, Margarida Blasco, proposed a mission supplement (SM) for members of the PSP and GNR between 365.13 and 625.94 euros, which will replace the current supplement for service and risk in the security forces, the platform indicates that it will present a counterproposal.

For the platform, the proposal of the Executive translates into a "ridiculous appreciation and, in many cases, a reduction in income, were it not for a safeguard clause that guarantees, for these latter cases, an increase of 75 euros, and in several situations the appreciation is around nine euros".

"In this way, there is generally a depreciation in the short/medium term of the values currently paid through the current Supplement for Service and Risk in the Security Forces (supplement suppressed and replaced by the SM)", it says.

The unions and associations of the PSP and GNR therefore consider that the proposal "is absolutely unacceptable and vexatious", since "the only parity it presents with the PJ is in the nomenclature of Mission Supplement", since "in its content it does not present any planning or study, as to the objective it aims to achieve, namely to give parity to the police condition of FS [Security Forces] professionals, with regard to compensation for Risk, Insalubrity, Hardship, permanent availability, responsibility and subjection until retirement or retirement to a specific code of ethics and special disciplinary statute".

According to the figures released by the platform, the Government's proposal for the new GNR mission supplement implies a salary loss of 517.30 euros for the commander-general, with the largest increase in the career being 227.70 euros for an ensign, and a loss of 517 euros in the salary of the Police Director, while the largest increase in the career does not exceed 196 euros.

The current supplement for service and risk in the security forces that PSP and GNR elements receive has a variable component that corresponds to 20% of the base salary and a fixed component of 100 euros.

According to the proposal presented by the Government to the PSP unions, the officers would have a mission supplement of 12% of the base remuneration of the national director of the PSP and the commander-general of the GNR, while the percentage for the PSP chiefs and GNR sergeants is 9% and for the agents and guards is 7%.

The police officers and military personnel of the GNR demand a mission supplement identical to that which the previous government attributed to the PJ, which in some cases represented a salary increase of 700 euros.
