Man dies after being run over by a car that skidded in Mértola
An accident in the Alentejo village of Mértola left three victims. Besides a fatal victim, there are also two people injured - one with severe and the other with minor injuries.

A man died this Friday after being run over by a car that skidded off the road in Mértola, in the district of Beja.
According to what the Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Baixo Alentejo explained to Notícias ao Minuto, the death was declared on the spot.
The light passenger vehicle also ran over another person, who is in serious condition and was airlifted by INEM to the hospital in Faro.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital unit in Beja.
The accident happened at 2:25 p.m.
In addition to two patrols of the National Republican Guard, seven vehicles from the Mértola Fire Department are on the scene.
