PSP makes 485 arrests in just one week. 56 weapons were seized

The Public Security Police (PSP) made 485 arrests between May 5 and 11, throughout the national territory.
Of the arrests made, the PSP highlights, in a statement that Notícias ao Minuto had access to, that 165 were for road crimes, of which 92 were for driving under the influence of alcohol and 73 for lack of legal driving license.
In the same period, 56 weapons were seized, the authority reveals.
32 suspects were also arrested for drug trafficking, with more than 18,341 individual doses seized. There were also 43 arrests for property crimes, including scams, thefts and robberies.
The PSP also stressed that it inspected 13,722 vehicles, having registered 4,251 contravention reports. 4,416 breathalyzer tests were carried out, resulting in 104 contravention reports for driving under the influence of alcohol.
40,500 vehicles were also controlled by radar, of which 553 were detected speeding.
Regarding road accidents, there were 1,085 accidents, resulting in 373 injuries, of which 18 were serious, 355 minor and three fatalities.
