Castelo Branco Hospital obtains a "good" level certification from the DGS
The Amato Lusitano Hospital (HAL), in Castelo Branco, obtained the "good" level certification, according to the Accreditation model of the Andalusian Health Quality Agency (ACSA), adopted by the General Health Directorate (DGS).

"This certification and distinction were, on the one hand, a clear commitment of the Board of Directors of the ULS [Local Health Unit] of Castelo Branco, but, above all, the recognition, dedication, and involvement of everyone in the continuous improvement of health care", said the Board of Directors of the ULS of Castelo Branco, in a press release sent to the Lusa agency.
The HAL of the ULS of Castelo Branco, EPE obtained a "good" level certification for the entire hospital, according to the ACSA model, accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua Accredited Organization), a model adopted by the DGS.
This certification process is conducted by the Department of Quality in Health (DQS) of the DGS, with reference to the National Strategy for Quality in Health and the documented procedures in force in the Department of Quality in Health.
According to the ULS of Castelo Branco, this certification "represents a significant milestone in the commitment and responsibility of professionals in providing health care in a safe environment for our users, family members, and health professionals".
The adoption of a national certification model for health units aims to promote and drive the continuous improvement of health care provided to citizens in the National Health Service (SNS) in terms of clinical aspects, relationship with the citizen, organizational, procedural, professional development, and continuous training.
The goal is to achieve, in a consistent and sustainable way, organizational excellence and put it at the service of the citizen.
The ULS of Castelo Branco, after seven services accredited by the DGS, committed itself in 2022 to a voluntary application, with the aim of obtaining the hospital's global certification, by the ACSA Model approved by the Ministry of Health.
