The other injured parties who were treated after the accident have already been discharged, the same source added.
Ten people were injured, three of them seriously, after the chairs they were sitting on fell from a stand at EUL during an event with children organised by the Infante de Sagres Association.
In total, nine people were treated and the injured, aged between 30 and 86, were taken to hospital.
In a statement, the University of Lisbon promised to investigate the case.
"The reasons for the accident are being investigated and every effort is being made to determine the causes of this occurrence," the University said in a statement, recalling that "all sports equipment is subject to regular inspections, in accordance with the law".
The University thanked the "speed and professionalism with which the victims were transferred to the emergency department of Santa Maria Hospital, which reported that three of them will remain under observation as a precaution".
The rector's office said it was "monitoring the situation and in contact with the college that organised the party".
"We deeply regret what happened and wish the injured a speedy recovery," the university added.
