Nvidia’s recent run of prosperity has led to the company’s co-founder and CEO Jensen Huang being the latest interviewee on US programme ‘60 Minutes’.
As well as getting to know Huang a little better, the Nvidia boss was described in somewhat brutal terms by employees of the company.
“Demanding, a perfectionist and hard to work with”, said journalist Bill Whitaker, quoting people who have worked closely with Huang at Nvidia. However, Huang seemed unfazed by the description, saying it was “spot on”.
“It has to be that way. If you want to do extraordinary things, it can’t be easy”, said Huang.
It’s worth remembering that Nvidia is one of only four publicly traded companies in the world worth $2 trillion, alongside Google, Apple and Microsoft. So – and given that Nvidia’s stock value has doubled in the past eight months – it’s clear that Huang’s approach to leadership must be working.
