André Villas-Boas, the 32nd president in the history of FC Porto, is a self-confessed car enthusiast. The former coach and now top manager of the blue and whites has a very special collection, which began with the purchase of a Ferrari F40 and a 275 GTB/4.
However, as he explains in a video from Jornal dos Clássicos, where he gives a guided tour of his spectacular garage, the first car he acquired is one of the most special to him. It is a UMM 4x4.
"There is another car that is not [in the garage], which was the bride's car, the UMM. It was the first car I bought and it is not here because it is still being used in Gerês, it is very useful. It made several trips to Morocco with my uncle and my cousin. My cousin sold me the car and I used it in my professional training at FC Porto, still in the youth teams. It was the car with which I first made the jump from Fafe (laughs)", he began by telling Jornal dos Clássicos.
"Three or four children also decided to set it on fire. They thought the car was too straight. The car burned the interior and the tarpaulin, before the firefighters arrived, but we managed to restore it after this incident. And it was the bride's car... It is a car with a sentimental value that unites us for eternity", said Villas-Boas, who won the elections at FC Porto on April 27.
