"It's always nice to come to Barcelona, a track where I've always loved racing. I have good memories here with Aprilia since last year and I hope to get some even better ones this year," said the rider from Almada, in statements released today by the Trackhouse team's press office.
In 2023, the Portuguese rider was fifth in Sunday's main race and sixth in the 'sprint race', held on Saturday.
Oliveira considers the Catalan circuit to be "quite technical".
"You have to pay a lot of attention to the first 'chicane', where you can lose a lot of time. Then we have a fast section and the double right-hand bend in the last sector," explained the Aprilia rider.
Miguel Oliveira recalls that the Barcelona track "doesn't have much grip", so it is necessary to "manage the tyres well to be competitive in the final part of the race".
Given his knowledge of the Spanish circuit, where he has raced "since the early days of his career", he leaves a guarantee: "I am very confident for Barcelona".
The Catalan GP is the sixth of 20 rounds of the championship, led by Spaniard Jorge Martín (Ducati), with 129 points, 38 more than Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), second and reigning world champion.
Miguel Oliveira, who retired in the previous round, in France, due to mechanical problems, is 14th, with 23.
