Porsche will continue to be present in the Formula E World Championship until 2027.
This means that the sports car manufacturer from Stuttgart will be on the grid when the next generation of vehicles, known as GEN4, arrives in the competition. The GEN4 will be introduced in Season 13 (2026/2027) and should allow manufacturers to have a greater margin of development, which will help in building new production vehicles.
"From the outset, we have considered our commitment to Formula E as being long-term. The evolution of the racing cars shows the development potential that exists in electric mobility. In the future, we want to gain even more knowledge from Formula E that we can transfer to our road-going sports cars. Since this is one of the most competitive championships in motorsport, it forces us to achieve technological excellence. We look forward to continuing to shape the championship and contributing to the advancement of electric mobility," said Michael Steiner, Porsche's Member of the Executive Board for Research and Development.
