Queda ends Miguel Oliveira's best sprint race of the year
Portuguese driver was seventh, when he was forced to give up.

Miguel Oliveira was, early on Saturday afternoon, on the verge of signing what would have been the best performance in sprint races, in the 2024 edition of the MotoGP World Championship, at the Catalan Grand Prix.
The Portuguese rider started from 15th place on the starting grid, but entered with everything and quickly reached the top 10. It was then that, in the final laps, the leaders went to the tarmac. First, Raúl Fernández, and then Brad Binder, with the Hawk taking advantage to overtake them and reach seventh position.
However, just three laps from the checkered flag, the Almadense rider lost control of the motorcycle and also went to the asphalt, so he was forced to give up, just like what had happened with the two opponents.
As for the victory itself, it would end up smiling at Aleix Espargaró, who, on the last lap of the competition in the neighboring country, rose to the top of the peloton, finishing immediately ahead of Marc Márquez and Pedro Acosta.
