Charles Leclerc won, early on Sunday afternoon, what was his first victory since the start of the 2024 edition of the Formula 1 World Championship, by finishing the Monaco Grand Prix in first place.
Racing at 'home', the Formula 1 driver did not waste the 'pole position' won the day before, and dominated the eighth race of the calendar from start to finish, finishing it immediately ahead of the surprising Oscar Piastri, from McLaren, and his teammate, Carlos Sainz, who closed the podium.
The reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, ended up having much less reason to celebrate, since he was unable to go beyond sixth place, 'sandwiched' between the Mercedes of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
This was, moreover, a race that was marked by a spectacular accident, on the first lap, involving Sérgio Pérez, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, which forced the display of the red flag.
The two Haas drivers were fighting for position, when one of them 'touched' the Red Bull driver's single-seater, causing him to crash violently into the safety barriers, and leaving all those involved with no alternative but to give up.
