Desporto Gonçalo Paciência

Gonçalo Paciência gave an extensive interview to DAZN Portugal this Thursday, in which he talked about the change of cycle that is happening at FC Porto with the arrival of André Villas-Boas to the presidency of the blue and whites.

Having been trained by the Porto team, the forward considers that the former coach is prepared for the mission that he will have ahead of him in the next four years.

"It will be a big challenge for André. There were 42 years with Pinto da Costa in charge, it is a difficult legacy. But I think that André has prepared himself well for this, he is aware of the difficulty and the challenge that he will have. My father played at FC Porto, I trained at FC Porto. We are intrinsically linked to his history and FC Porto. He is a person who means a lot to our family. André was the chosen one, I wish him the best of luck in the world. I hope that it will be a time of success, I will be rooting for that", the forward started by saying, who talked about the next project that he would like to have.

"I want a project that corresponds to my qualities, to what I am as a player. Of course I am not in a phase in which I can choose where to go and say that I want a team that constantly plays in the opponent's midfield. But I want a team and a coach that privileges more of a touch and crosses, which is where I can make a difference", stated the Portuguese international.

Now at Bochum, Gonçalo Paciência did not hide his desire to wear the national team jersey again

"It is always a dream to be able to return to the national team and be with the best in the country. I have already had the opportunity to be there, I achieved that goal, which is really special. They are small victories, but they mean a lot. I am very happy with my path and for already having these small steps in my journey", highlighted the forward, choosing Hulk as the player who made the most difference in Portugal

"I trained with him several times when I was 16 or 17 years old. He was a player that I would like to play with. Let's see", he concluded.
