Team's stance: “It's going to be a tough final for both teams, also balanced, and we have to be very determined and focused, because in this type of game, from my experience, the details make the difference and become 'major details'. In that state of mind, we have to face the final with no more or less pressure than any other game, because all the games here are to be won, but with the awareness that we can bring another trophy to the Museum and offer it to someone who has dedicated himself to the club for 42 years. It would be a beautiful way for Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa to leave the club, adding another cup to the thousands of titles won in different sports.”
Analysis of Sporting: “They have several ways of defending: initially with pressure, in the midfield and in a lower area in 5-4-1 or 5-2-3. We have to look at that, at our dynamics in possession, and understand what we should do to dismantle the opponent's defensive organisation, looking at Sporting's strengths and taking precautions against the interesting dynamics of a rival who scored many goals during the championship. We have to be a consistent team, solid in defensive terms, very bold and capable of reaching the opponent's goal, if possible defining a little better when putting the ball in to be more effective than we were during the championship.”
Cup Sunday: “The Cup final is a day of celebration, a great pilgrimage to Jamor and a day to drink some beers. We have to drink from the fans' motivation to also drink one or two beers at the end, which would be a good sign (laughs). Also because Rúben (Amorim) has already drunk two or three and we haven't yet. We are all committed to doing our best to win.”
