"Darwin Núñez could be as potent as Fernando Torres"

Rickie Lambert has come to the defence of Darwin Nunez, who remains a divisive figure at Liverpool almost two years after his £85million move from Benfica.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the former England international, who played for the Reds during the 2014/15 season, said he can see the "potential" in the Uruguayan and is certain Jurgen Klopp's successor, Arne Slot, will be able to get the best out of him.
"I love the way he plays but I can see him being as potent as Fernando Torres. That's where I can see Nunez, we've just got to stick with him. The next manager has got to take him on the training ground and make him finish," he said.
"In a few months or a year's time, those chances will start going in. His all-round play is there. He can hold the ball up and run in behind. When you've got a player at the top level who can do that, you can't let him go," he added.
