"If Chelsea spent millions on potential, they can't sack Pochettino"

Rio Ferdinand has defended Chelsea against sacking manager Mauricio Pochettino, despite their heavy 5-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium to Arsenal on Tuesday.
"The one thing I would say is if you've spent a billion pounds worth of potential, you can't sack the manager. I'm very interested to see how this summer plays out in terms of the manager situation," the former Manchester United captain said on British television station TNT Sports.
"One of the first things Mauricio Pochettino will say when he gets his end-of-season review is 'what do you expect? I've got one of the youngest squads in the league. I've invested in a lot of potential but there's no real finished article'.
"Where's the experience when the going gets tough? Where are the characters and personalities that are going to drag the young players through? The main one was on the bench. It was Thiago Silva but he's 38. They need to buy experience."
