"We hope that Benfica slips. But being champion is not enough"
Sporting coach's analysis of the win over Portimonense, in an interview with Sport TV.

Analysis: “Looking at the chances, we should have scored earlier. We controlled Portimonense's transitions from the start, we didn't concede many fouls in our attacking midfield and we only failed in our rush to reach the goal. Even so, they ran a lot to close down our spaces, but it was a very good first half and a very competent second half as well”.
Portimonense's Posture: “Yes, because we also knew, from past matches, that Portimonense plays with a line of four, but then often plays with a line of six. Sometimes, with one forward, we have little aggression in the area and that's what we were looking for. Pote can play as a midfielder and a winger, with the ball he played as a winger and without the ball he played as a midfielder”.
Support from Alvalade: “It's more of the same, it's something that is difficult to control and I would like to emphasize that it's not new, and from the first match, when we almost drew with that emotion. They have always supported us and for those who said that we could not win titles with an audience, let's see this year”.
Help from Benfica. “Obviously we hope that Benfica will slip up, but it's in our hands to win the next match and that's the goal. Being champion is not enough, we can still beat Sporting's points record and add games without conceding goals. We can still improve and that's the goal”.
Can Sporting still not be champion? “Mathematically it is still possible, it would have no explanation for it to happen, but as long as it is mathematically possible we have to do our best”.
