"They say we will never be two-time champions again. We'll see"

It was to the chants of 'Stay, Amorim' that Rúben Amorim went up, at dawn, to the stage set up at Marquês de Pombal, to celebrate the conquest of what was Sporting's 20th national champion title.
The leonine coach refused to reveal whether or not he will stay in Alvalade, despite the insistence of the thousands of fans who listened to him. Even so, he took the opportunity to joke about the much-talked-about trip to London, before launching a challenge... for next season, causing a thunderous ovation.
"Guys, let's get this over with, I have a plane to catch very early tomorrow. It's still too early for this joke, I'll save it," began by saying the former Portuguese international, amidst general laughter, in the Portuguese capital.
"I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the whole staff is here. There are people who don't have much media exposure. The wardrobe staff, the physiotherapists... They don't have time off, like us, they earn much less and are part of our success. A round of applause for the staff," he continued.
"They said we would only win championships every 18 years. They said we only won the championship because we didn't have an audience. And they say we will never be two-time champions again. Let's see," he concluded, dropping the microphone.
