Frederico Morais was eliminated today in the second round of the Sydney Surf Pro, the second stage of the Challenger Series circuit, leaving the men's competition without Portuguese representatives.

Relegated from the world circuit in the 'cut' after the fifth stage, and looking to return to the elite, Frederico Morais was again eliminated in his first 'heat', as had happened in the first event, also in Australia, on the Gold Coast.
'Kikas', who advanced directly to the second round, scored 9.57 points (6.07 and 3.5) in the fifth heat, behind Brazilian Edgard Groggia (13.1), American Dimitri Poulos (10.53) and Hawaiian Robert Grilho (10.4), finishing the competition among the 49th classified.
Guilherme Ribeiro had already been eliminated in the opening round, among the 73rd placed.
The Portuguese presence in Sydney continues in full in the women's competition, with Yolanda Hopkins, who qualified on Thursday for the second round, a phase in which Teresa Bonvalot and Kika Veselko make their debut.
In the round of 32, Yolanda Hopkins will face Australian Isabella Nichols, South African Sarah Baum and Japanese Amuro Tsuzuki.
Francisca Veselko will face Canadian Erin Brooks, American Kirra Pinkerton and Hawaiian Eweleiula Wong, while Teresa Bonvalot will meet American Alyssa Spencer, Spanish Ariane Ochoa and Australian Rocie Smart.
