Rafael Leão gave an extensive interview to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, in which he revealed that he tried to bring João Cancelo to AC Milan... a player who is on loan from Manchester City to Barcelona.

"I can tell you one thing. In the national team, I was talking to Cancelo, because he played for Inter, and he told me 'I really like AC Milan, it's a good club. When I played in the stadium, I felt the fans. When I was a kid, I really liked the club', the Portuguese international began by saying.

"So I told him 'So, come on'. But he told me it was difficult. He was at Manchester City, and he told me it was difficult. But I tried. Our new era, at AC Milan, has to do with young players with talent. Cancelo is in the middle, and I think it would be the perfect combination", he added.

In the same interview, the forward explained what it's like to share a dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo: "It has nothing to do with talent, it has to do with mentality, how you prepare for the game, during the week, in training...".

"It's a pleasure. It's a pride to play with him, in the national team. I think that, for us, the young players - because there are many of us, like João Félix, etc - it's a pleasure to have him in the national team and to play more years with him, because it will be good for everyone", he concluded.
