AICEP contracts 44 million in investments since the beginning of the year
A AICEP - Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency announced today that, since the beginning of this year, it has contracted investments of 44 million euros with incentives for Research & Technological Development (R&D).

These are "four investment contracts signed by AICEP with three companies from the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors, specifically Bosch Car Multimédia (two contracts), Huf Portuguesa and BIAL, for a total value of 44,042,401.3 euros", the agency said in a statement.
The contracts signed provide for the "creation of 626 jobs, most of them highly qualified", and the total incentives for Technological Research and Development (R&D) granted by AICEP amount to around 20 million euros.
"AICEP is working to attract new industrial investments that are intensive in research and technological development for the entire country. Investments that add value and productivity and appreciate the qualifications and salaries of the Portuguese", highlighted the president of AICEP, Filipe Santos Costa, in a statement.
The value of the investment contracted by the company Huf Portuguesa, which is located in Tondela, in the district of Viseu, and is an automotive components factory that provides 'software' and 'hardware' solutions to automobile manufacturers, amounts to 11,170,300 euros and will allow the maintenance of 422 jobs.
As for the investment of the pharmaceutical company Bial, located in Trofa, in the metropolitan area of Porto, it totals 6,951,617 euros and will allow the creation of 128 jobs and the maintenance of another 374.
The Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal and University of Minho consortium signed a contract for 10,620,461 euros that provides for the introduction of new navigation and infotainment systems, instrumentation systems, professional systems and electronic production systems.
This investment will allow the creation of 258 jobs and the maintenance of 3,571 jobs.
A second project of the Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal and University of Minho consortium, which provides for the introduction of a new generation of automotive sensor systems, involves an investment of 15,300,022 euros, the creation of 240 jobs and also the maintenance of 3,571 jobs.
