TVI has once again become the leader in audience ratings for the month of April and has already issued a statement to newsrooms. 

In the aforementioned statement, the channel began by highlighting that "it won 25 days in the month of April and reaffirmed its leadership in audience ratings in Portugal".

"It has thus proven itself, for the third consecutive month, to be the most watched television channel by the Portuguese, increasing the gap to the second channel", they emphasized. 

"TVI was the channel of choice with a 15.4% share, a 1.1pp advantage over SIC. It led both in the mornings and afternoons, as well as in prime time. 'Cacau' has stood out as the favorite soap opera of the Portuguese since its premiere. On the evening of April 29, TVI introduced the series 'A Filha', which was the leader every night with an average of 630 thousand viewers. Two 'Champions League' matches were also broadcast, which obtained an average of 1.2 million viewers and a 24.3% share", they detailed. 

"The 'Big Brother' Galas dominate the weekend evenings with 840 thousand viewers. The 'Especial' registered excellent results in prime time from Monday to Friday. 'Última Hora' and 'Extra' reach winning numbers", they also shared. 

"'Sentença' premiered this month, leading in its broadcast time with almost 400 thousand viewers and a 16.7% share, which reveals a very positive result in this very important time slot after 'TVI Jornal'. Information continues to grow. 'TVI Jornal' and 'Jornal Nacional' register good results this month", they added. 

"Viewers find the best company for their daily lives on TVI. In addition to the programs already mentioned, 'Festa é Festa', 'Dois às 10', 'Goucha' and the rerun of the soap opera 'Herdeira' led in their respective time slots. It is worth mentioning the fact that TVI also leads on weekend afternoons with the programs 'Em Família' and 'Somos Portugal'", they continued. 

"This is the tenth consecutive month in which the TVI group of channels (four channels) has won, with all of them being in the top 10 of television in Portugal. CNN Portugal continues to be the news channel chosen by the Portuguese. TVI Ficção and TVI Reality once again register excellent performances", they concluded. 

In turn, SIC has also broken its silence about the audience ratings for the month of April through a statement. See it in full:

"In April, 3.7 million viewers watched SIC daily. With the SIC channel universe, 4.6 million viewers were reached daily. The IMPRESA Group's channel closed the month with a 14.3% share. 

Last month, SIC was the most watched in prime time on weekdays in the commercial target ABCD 25/64 years old. Jornal da Noite is the most watched news block in Portugal. This is due to sections such as A Opinião de Marques Mendes, Guerra Fria or Polígrafo SIC. At lunchtime, Primeiro Jornal is the one that gathers the most viewers. In entertainment, highlights include programs such as Alta Definição, Nosso Mundo, Vida Selvagem, Fama Show or Alô Marco Paulo. 

The set of SIC thematic channels (SIC Notícias, SIC Mulher, SIC Radical, SIC Caras and SIC K) ended the month with a 4.1% share, up 0.1 p.p. compared to the previous month and 0.7 p.p. compared to the same month last year. 

SIC Notícias reached a 2.3% share, up 0.3 p.p. compared to the same month last year. SIC Notícias is the most watched news channel in the ABC 25/64 target, with a 3.5% share.

Also noteworthy is SIC Mulher, which closed the month of April with a 1.1% share, up 0.2 p.p. compared to the previous month and 0.3 p.p. compared to the same month last year. SIC Caras reached a 0.4% share, up 0.1 pp compared to both the previous month and the same month last year. 

But the news for April did not only happen on the channel's airwaves. The month was marked by the announcement of the Tribeca Festival Lisboa, one of the largest pop culture and entertainment festivals in the world, which SIC and Opto will bring to Lisbon in September, and by the launch of Óbvio, the new IMPRESA Group's influencer marketing agency.

In May, SIC will have more bets, such as the new season of Casados à Primeira Vista. Today, May 1st, the channel will broadcast the final between Benfica and Sporting for the Women's League Cup".
