The stately home that Betty Grafstein bought in São Pedro de Sintra in 1972 is now a local rental house that is operated by Pedro Pico, the man who appears being attacked by José Castelo Branco in the video that went viral in recent days.
Pedro rented the house to Betty and signed a 10-year contract, which allowed him to turn the mansion into a local accommodation. The transformist thus started the Sintra Wow, the company that operates the house bought by the jewelry designer and in which Pedro says he has carried out works of high value.
Pedro now lives in this 'mansion' which is divided into three distinct spaces. The first is the main house, which has the largest area, there is also a chapel and a smaller house. The truth is that anyone can also sleep in these spaces, just by booking one of the rooms through the website of Sintra Wow. Contrary to what you might think, the prices are very affordable and there are options for all budgets.
The Fama ao Minuto tried to understand how much it would cost to spend the night at Betty Grafstein's house and immediately found out that it is only possible to book the main room of the house with the largest area from July 20, since there is no date available until then.
The Luxurious Presidential Double Room, as it was called, is described on the website as "the private room of mega-stars José Castelo Branco and Betty Grafstein for over 20 years". "The unique giant round bed, with a copper fireplace, and the magical bathtub overlooking the mountains can now be yours," the space's characterization also reads.
Trying to book the room, it is possible to verify that the booking, if it were made for the first available day, July 20, would cost 210 euros. However, this is where one of the most curious data comes in.
Pedro Pico created a discount code for customers who want to make a reservation. To get 50% off, the user will only need to enter the code JCB, the initials of... José Castelo Branco.
Therefore, and given that the discount in question can only be applied when the reservation is for a minimum of two nights, sleeping in the suite that was once José and Betty's bedroom will cost 112.50 euros per night: 80 euros for the room reservation, to which 22.50 euros for cleaning fee, six euros for tourist tax and four euros for municipal tourist tax are added.
The Luxurious Presidential Double Room is divided, as its name suggests, into two separate spaces and can be occupied by six guests in total.

If you are looking for a slightly cheaper option, you can always book the Smart Lovers Nest, a room with a computer and a game console that, with the JCB discount already applied and for the presence of two guests, would be 51.50 euros per night.

The main house has two more rooms for reservations. The Patio Comfort is 42 euros per night, while the Mountain Dreams with a Giant Bed costs 76 euros/night.

To join friends or to keep the 'mansion' almost to yourself and to those you bring with you, you can also book the house with its various rooms. This possibility is only available from August 22 and for two nights, for two guests, it would cost 3,223 euros, that is, 1,611.50 per night.
Sintra Wow is located on Rua Bernardim Ribeiro, about a 10-minute walk from the Sintra Palace, that is, in a very privileged location for those who want to get to know the village.
The controversy that 'haunts' the house
The lease in question has been involved in a great endless controversy. José Castelo Branco, who spoke live on the 'TVI Extra' program about the subject in June last year, explained the reasons that lead him to ensure that the signed contract is not valid. "We made two contracts: one for the person [Pedro Pico] to be at home to make a local accommodation and, at the same time, I would go to Portugal every month to do shows. Of course, nothing ever happened", he stressed, at the time, emphasizing that "the house is not rented" because the contracts "were not ratified", that is, validated.
"I tried, because of the friendship that this person had for me and >
