"People have no idea of the process that Diogo goes through to stay healthy"
Jessica Athayde revealed to be proud of her partner, Diogo Amaral, to whom she is engaged.
In 2019, during an interview with Cristina Ferreira, Diogo Amaral publicly admitted that he was facing a drug addiction problem. Since then, the actor has undergone a rehabilitation process, a subject that Jessica Athayde spoke about in an interview she gave today, May 14, to Júlia Pinheiro, on SIC.
"I am very proud of him", she began by emphasizing.
"People are not aware of the whole process that Diogo goes through to stay healthy and well and the number of people he helps with his testimony", she says, noting that many people seek out the artist to ask for help, both people who face the disease of addiction and their family members.
Jessica highlights that Diogo helps many people, but always in a "discreet" way. In addition, she notes that the actor "never felt sorry for himself", so he courageously embraced all the steps towards recovery.
Not indifferent to these words, the presenter also praised Athayde's courage when she decided to distance herself from Diogo at that stage, so that he could properly treat himself.
"I went through a phase of imbalance in my life and with a child. That estrangement that existed was for a long time, until there was proof that he was really doing that work", Jessica noted, assuring that to overcome the difficult moments it was necessary to "communicate" and "inform", because "love alone is not enough".
In the meantime, with a smile, she says: "Diogo has been healthier than a pea for four years".
It is important to remember that the couple has a son in common, little Oliver. Diogo is also the father of Mateus, the result of a previous relationship with Vera Kolodzig.
