At 6:34 p.m. on the 12th, the young man, who did not know how to swim and was on the beach with friends, was caught by a wave while cooling off and was never seen again.
Since then, permanent searches have been triggered between sunrise and sunset, but the body of the young Moroccan has not been found.
"From today on, the searches will be carried out within the scope of the normal activity of the patrol of the local command of the Maritime Police", revealed Rui Lampreia, confirming that since Monday, the search has been carried out mainly on land, but with eyes on the sea and that it was in charge of the Maritime Police agents and elements of the Douro Port Authority.
Given the time that has already passed, the hope, according to the commander, "is that the sea will return the body, but that is an uncertainty".
The searches ended today at sunset, at 8:19 p.m.
