11-year-old student injured after being attacked by 16-year-old classmate in Caminha

An 11-year-old student was injured on Monday after being attacked by an older classmate in Caminha, Notícias ao Minuto confirmed with a source from the Fire Department. The assault took place near the Caminha Secondary School.
According to the same source, the victim suffered minor injuries to his neck and back and was transported to the Viana do Castelo Hospital.
The alert was given at 12:38 pm and the Caminha Volunteer Firefighters, the Alto Minho Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER), and the National Republican Guard (GNR), who recorded the occurrence, were at the scene.
To Rádio Vale do Minho, the director of the Caminha Council School Group, Maria Esteves, said that the 16-year-old aggressor "kicked the younger boy, who ended up having difficulty breathing". The victim is "well".
They also mention that the aggressor was the target of a disciplinary process.
It is not yet known what caused the assault.
Notícias ao Minuto contacted the GNR to obtain more information about the incident, but this has not yet been possible.
