Portuguese ship takes part in Spanish Navy exercise on the Minho River

A Portuguese Navy ship participated in an exercise carried out by the Spanish Navy in the Minho River, this Wednesday.
The NRP Rio Minho was present at the MARSEC24 Exercise of the Spanish Navy, whose objective was to "provide training and reinforce cooperation between the different means of the Portuguese Navy, the Caminha Harbour Master's Office, the Maritime Police and the Spanish Navy, mainly in the area of search and rescue in the International Section of the Minho River".
"Several exercises were carried out between the NRP Rio Minho and the Cabo Fradera Inland Patrol Vessel of the Spanish Navy, in a scenario of response to an incident on board, which was an excellent opportunity for bilateral training for both Crews", said the entity, in a statement.
The ship is on a permanent mission in the International Section of the Minho River, and is commanded by Second Lieutenant Martin Fedorchuk. It also has a crew of eight elements.
