Car workshop "completely destroyed" by fire in Covilhã

A fire completely destroyed an auto repair shop today in Tortosendo, in the municipality of Covilhã, district of Castelo Branco, sources from Civil Protection told Lusa, adding that the fire has already been controlled.
The repair shop was "completely destroyed" by the fire, which did not affect the neighboring house, a source from the Covilhã fire department explained.
The incident, which was reported at 7:57 pm, did not leave anyone homeless or cause any injuries, he added.
A source from the Sub-regional Command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela said that the fire was reported to have been brought under control at 9:00 pm, confirming that the entire space was engulfed in flames.
At 9:30 pm, there were 36 firefighters on site, supported by 14 vehicles, according to Civil Protection.
