Inês d'Orey finalist for 2024 Nikon Emerging Photographer Award

Portuguese Inês d'Orey is a finalist for the 2024 Nikon Photo Contest for Emerging Photographers at Photo London, which runs from May 16 to 19 at Somerset House in the British capital.

Born in 1977 in Porto, Inês d'Orey studied photography at the University of the Arts London, being known mainly for her artistic work on architecture.

Her work is regularly exhibited in Portugal and abroad, and is present in several private and public collections. In 2007 she was awarded the Novo Talento Fotografia FNAC prize.

The other finalists of the ninth edition of the prize are Aisha Seriki, Ali Tahayori, Caroline Tompkins, Charlie Tallott, Isabelle Young, Johnny Mae Hauser, Lise Johansson and Sander Coers.

The winner, who will be announced on May 15, will receive a series of photographic equipment and the opportunity to exhibit at Nikon's space at Photo London the following year.

The galleries Salgadeiras Arte Contemporânea, which represents Inês d'Orey, and Artemis, both based in Lisbon, are the only Portuguese among more than a hundred exhibitors from 44 cities at the international fair dedicated to photography.

According to the organization, photographs produced from the 1840s to this year will be on display.
